Enjoy the full taste of ripe fruit
For more than 40 years Edelbrände brandies have been made at the Pichlgut. The main ingredient is the premium class fully ripe fruit. And just as first class are the Edelbrände brandies produced.
With a loving eye for detail sorts such as the king of schnapps the Vogelbeerbrand (rowan berry) are distilled. The berries have to be picked, pressed and fermented by hand. The yield is usually very low as with for instance the Schwarzbeerbrand (blackberry) which is why it is the one of the most expensive of the Edelbrände brandies.
As trained Edelbrand Sommelier Helmut Müller explains during his guided tours and tastings how the unique aroma of the Edelbrände comes about. In our cosy distillery you can, on request, taste 5 Edelbrände for € 7,00 per person.
An ideal combination is that of Edelbrand and cheese. A slice of creamy Brie rinsed down with quince brandy is a taste explosion of the utmost kind. Training courses on request, the price is set according to the extent of the desired course.
Home-made products in the shop
In our farm shop there are many other delicacies apart from the brandies. Judith Müller is a certified herbalist and prepares in particular wild herbs from the local meadows and woods. Many kinds of jams, vinegars, oils, liqueurs, chutneys, mustards and much more are on offer and the “herb witch” influence is apparent in many of the wares such as dandelion chutney, spruce tip mustard or wild garlic vinegar – don’t they sound delicious?
